In a few weeks we will be hosting our second nutrition talk here at the clinic. On Thursday September 29th, join us for SUPERFOODS MASTERCLASS, an informative and tasty night covering all you need to know about superfoods! Specifically, the top 11 up and coming foods you should keep your eye on, why they are good, and how to use them in your daily life. We’ll be sharing recipes, eating delicious snacks, and raffling off an awesome superfood prize pack!
Sound good? RSVP yourself and a friend by calling or emailing the clinic (contact details below). We’d love to see you! And to whet your pallet, today I’m going to give you a sneak-peak into one of the superfoods I will be mentioning at the class. We just brought this new item into the clinic, and already we’re hearing buzz from clients and staff about how incredible (and delicious) this food is. What is it?
MATCHA TEA POWDER
Matcha tea is made from the powdered green leaves of the tea plant Camellia sinensis.
It is a beautifully rich dark green powder that mixes easily into smoothies and baked goods, but if you want to get a sense of its true character you need to just whisk 1/2 tsp with boiling water, to create a warm, soothing and energizing tea.
Matcha tea is an incredible source of rich anti-oxidants, specifically the compound EGCG which has been found in some studies to have strong anti-cancer effects. Alongside its protective benefits, matcha also contains L-theanine, an amino acid that promotes calm, relaxed alertness. Combined with a natural hit of caffeine, Matcha is well on its way to becoming your perfect coffee replacement in the morning before a busy day at work.
My favourite matcha recipe is a twist on a favourite – Matcha Coconut Latte. Just whisk in 1/2 tsp matcha with a little bit of boiling water until the matcha powder is dissolved. Then, top up your mug with hot coconut milk and sip away…..
Do you want to try out this amazing superfood in your life? If so, stop by the clinic and pick up one of these little tins from Lemon Lily. You’ll be hooked in no time, I swear.

I’m off to go make a tea-lightful matcha latte….
See you soon!
