“It’s not your average massage”, says Paulyn, beaming. She does so because she is passionate about her form of clinical massage therapy.
Whether you suffer from an acute or chronic injury, jaw joint, respiratory or digestive disorder, her aim is to bring you back to your normal state as efficiently and effectively as possible.
She brings to massage therapy a clinical and therapeutic approach that involves working with the client throughout the whole process. A session starts with a systematic physical assessment that includes a review of your health history; posture analysis; and limb motion, special orthopaedic and neurological tests to locate the source of your pain or discomfort. This information will be used to develop a safe and effective treatment plan customized for you. Reassessment and home care instructions occur at the end of a session to ensure efficacy and maintenance of treatment.
If clinically indicated, Paulyn may incorporate paraffin wax application, ice massage, cupping, fascial stretch, trigger point release, scar / adhesion release, and joint mobilization in your treatment. She is also currently studying traditional Thai massage to add to her list of services.
Paulyn is very professional, always treating her clients with the utmost respect. Her 18 years of working with children as a respiratory therapist at the Hospital for Sick Children truly furthered her ability to be understanding, compassionate and empathetic with her patients while being extremely experienced and knowledgeable of the human body and effective treatment methods.
In 2016, she attended the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy to expand her knowledge and manual skills to include the rest of the human body.
Paulyn is a member of the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario and College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario.
Paulyn is available to book online.
